About Senator Carney

Senator Chris Carney is in his first term  as a member of the Senate of North Carolina where he was appointed to fill the seat left vacant by the  death of longtime Senator James Forrester in October 2011.  Prior to being appointed to the NC Senate, Senator Carney served five and a half years on the Mooresville Town Commission, the last two as Mayor Pro-tem.  On the town commission, he was heavily involved with economic development and business recruitment efforts.

Senator Carney is a graduate of North Carolina State University and he and his wife Francie have three children.
